Christina Brady

Meet Christina! Christina is a stay at home mom of three! She homeschools her kids and they love getting creative together! Christina first discovered the Kindness Rocks movement in Lakeland, FL and immediately wanted to implement the idea back home in Woodstock, knowing it would spread joy and happiness to our community. In starting the movement, Christina recognized how much more it is than just painting rocks- it spurs creativity, gets you outside and moving, and you feel the joy of knowing you may be bringing a smile to someone who really needs it that day!

Christina is a wonderful force in our community, and it was so great to talk about this journey with her! Thank you so much, Christina!!

Question: What inspired you or led you to start Woodstock Rocks?
Answer: We first encountered the rocks in Florida and just seeing my kids light up when they found one- it kept us searching around for so long! I saw the joy it brought to them, and I knew I wanted to bring it home. So, when we got home, I got started painting!

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Woodstock, and what do you love there?
A: Izumi for sushi! We’ve been going there since it opened

Q: How long have you lived or worked in Woodstock?
A: 10 years!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Woodstock? Who would you like to see nominated as a Face of Woodstock?
A: That’s a really difficult question because I’ve met so many people, especially through our events! I think I would say Dayana Cagle, who owns Splendor Oaks farm off Bells Ferry! We went to a “bee school” class that they hold there and got to see the whole process and taste a bunch of honey. They also renovate buses to make them into tiny homes, they are a treehouse and bus Airbnb host, AND an Organic eco-farm- they have bees, chickens, goats, and a potbelly pig!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Anywhere that has a nice beach… but the mountains are really nice too…

Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?
A: ‘Shawshank Redemption’ is my favorite movie!

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: Be kind! That’s kind of what Woodstock Rocks is all about- to spread joy! You never know what someone else is going through

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Swim with sharks! Not in a cage, like, I want to be scuba diving with sharks.

Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: I love upbeat dance music, even just without words!

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Woodstock would you have lunch?
A: Probably Morgan Freeman, because I really like him, but I don’t know where I would take him.

Q: What kind of role does the older generation play in your life as someone raising a young family?
A: I would say in learning basic life skills that it seems so rare to know these days, like canning, quilting, sewing, etc.!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Woodstock?
A: It’s nice that they have so much in downtown Woodstock- it is so cool! I love that it’s compact and feels so quaint

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: I’ll still be a mom and probably still homeschooling! That’s the goal, anyway.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: I had brain surgery 9 years ago. I had a tumor about the size of an apple, and I almost died, but everything turned out fine! But things could have been really different!

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Family, chaos, and fun

Q: If you had a full-time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose?
Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?
A: That’s very easy- a housekeeper!
